SootTech HISS soot blowing is installed on 80 soot blowers on black liquor boiler T5, delivered by Kvaerner(Valmet) in 1999, with capacity 2700 TDS/day. The results from installing HISS soot blowing are 10 % increased load and 30 % reduced comsumption of steam for the soot blowers.
Riskullaverket is a biomass boiler based on the latest fluidised bed technology. The boiler was delivered from Metso Power in october 2009 and is equipped with a flue gas cooler for maximum heat transfer. SootTech’s HISS technology is used to increase the electrical efficiency degree, and reduce production losses during sootblowing by elimination of disturbances in steam temperature control during sootblowing.
Strängnäs Energi is a combined bio and waste fuel power plant. The boiler was delivered from Babcock & Wilcox Völund november 2009 and is equipped with a flue gas cooler for maximum heat transfer. SootTech’s HISS technology i mainly used for reduction of boiler wear and reduction of soot steam consumption.
Eskiltuna Energi’s combined heat and power station is a highly efficient biomass boiler based on the latest fluidised bed technology. The boiler was delivered from Kvaerner in December 2000 and is equipped with a flue gas cooler for maximum heat transfer. With SootTech’s HISS technology, efficiency increases still further together with the proportion of electricity generated.
Era Energi produces electricity and district heating from almost 100% biofuel. HISS sootblowing is being installed in the facility’s combined heat and power station so as to be able to handle different types of fuel while retaining boiler uptime and increasing efficiency.

Nordic Paper Bäckhammar produces 120,000 tons of unbleached paper and 170,000 tons of pulp per year. Initially, the aim was to extend the time between water cleaning. Today, there are no stoppages for cleaning and the main aim is to increase the production of electricity and steam by means of cleaner economizers.
